The theme for our 2020 poetry competition is:

2020 Vision for the World’s Environment

Have you been inspired by climate activist Greta Thunberg whose campaign has been noticed by a worldwide audience?

Do you have concerns about the impact of human waste on the animal kingdom?

Are you a leader when it comes to recycling or upcycling in your home and community and want to share your ideas with others?

   

We want you to put your words about the environment and what changes you would like to see into poetry. They can be informative, educational, serious or humorous but must contain 3 of the following:

  • Metaphors
  • Similes
  • Personification
  • Alliteration
  • Onomatopoeia
  • Repetition
  • Use of the five senses
  • Rhyme
  • Rhythm

Competition dates – opens 20th November 2019 (Universal Children’s Day) and closes on 21st March 2020 (World Poetry Day)
